Meet Gui Vieira Dumit
I’m Guilherme Vieira Dumit, or simply Gui as I am known everywhere. Originally I am from São Paulo, Brazil, where I started to play tennis when I was 7. Currently, I am a senior in the majors of Economics and International Business at Rollins College with a graduation date in May of 2018.
As captain of the men’s tennis team at Rollins College, I have been required to speak in many languages to athletes from different countries, which was challenging in order to think of original ways to maintain their attention, especially when focusing on the team goal. Meanwhile, I was also required to schedule and plan all of mine and some of the team’s other tasks properly so the appropriate and demanded effort could be achieved at all times. I did not compete my Freshman year. I played singles mostly my sophomore and junior years, all out of the #6 spot. In Doubles, I played all years through Sophomore year out of the 2nd and 3rd positions. Was 2-3 in singles and in doubles my junior year. I have changed my style of game numerous times, but I could be considered a fast doubles player, and I am someone who changes the game pace a lot in singles, while also attacking the ball from the baseline. I love to teach and look forward to meeting you.
