Meet Jason Derijk
Jason Derijk has been Co-owner and Director of Mendham Tennis Academy at the Mendham Health and Racquet Club in Mendham, New Jersey since 2010. Jason, PTR certified, and a Florida native, has been teaching high performance tennis in New Jersey for over 15 years. He has competed on the junior, college, and professional levels throughout his tennis career and continues to play national tournaments.
His dedication and knowledge of the game of tennis is apparent in his everyday life and teaching methods. Jason enjoys working with players of all levels and understands the importance of instilling good habits and sound technique at an early stage of player development.
Jason was co-director/head coach of the USTA's Competitive Training Center (CTC) junior development program 2010 – 2015. He coached the team for the CTC championship finals at West Point in West Point, New York in 2012 and at the championship finals at Billy Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, New York in 2015.
Meet Rayni Borinsky
Field Club member and well known tennis professional,Rayni Borinsky, took up the game of tennis at the age of nine. A talented player, Rayni won the U. S. Girls 18s national title in 1974. She attended Rollins College for two years where she played first singles and first doubles before making the decision to turn pro in 1975.
Rayni competed on the WTA Tour for five years. She played in all 4 Grand Slams at least 3 times each reaching the finals of the French Open Doubles, Quarterfinals of the Australian Open Singles and Quarterfinals of the U. S. Open Mixed Doubles (1980). During her time on the circuit she was ranked as high as 41 in the world.
Rayni taught tennis for a number of years in her home state of Florida and continues to teach today in New Jersey. She has coached middle school and high school teams. She enjoys playing and teaching tennis and hopes to continue doing both for years to come!
